George Carlin Dead at 71 Print E-mail
Written by WL Mackenzie Redux
Monday, 23 June 2008

George Carlin Died at his LA home Sunday. The cause of death was heart failure.

I personally believe we have lost a therapeutic remedy to the smugness of post modern culture. Carlin, despite the labels pasted on him by dogmatic political partisans, was an artist and an American populist. Iconoclastic, insightful and brutally honest...that's how you got it from Carlin. A running commentary on the modern  human condition as he saw it....much of the time he was simply a mirror reflecting back the absurdities and excesses of modern culture and mocking its more superfluous orthodoxies.

Carlin forced us to not take ourselves too seriously and this is a universal antidote to political exremism and cultural excess. I'm going to let George do his own eulogy in this routine which I think is one of his best. It was also somewhat prophetic in that it deals with how political correctness is all about using linguistic perversion to lie and conceal agendas...and to avoid confronting reality...which is something nobody could accuse Carlin of.   RIP Bro.

Been a fan of George since the late 60's when he produced "The Class Clown", which included the famous "seven words" routine.

Basically,he was a Vegas comic that opted for the new wave, and transformed himself into a hero for an entirely different generation, and we loved him for it.

Some of his rants on Youtube, like, "F*** the Children' are priceless.

RIP, George, we'll miss you.

He so loved the world, that he dared to say what he saw. It was tough love.
He never robbed any churches
he never cut off any babies heads
he just took the folks in high places
and he shined a light in their beds
They said that he was sick
because he didn't play by the rules
he just showed that the wise men of his day
were nothing more than fools
He ripped off the lid
before it was time
he was really, really BAD
he was the brother you never had

How things have changed since Mr. Carlin's younger days. RIP, George...

SEVEN THINGS THAT CANNOT BE SAID IN PUBLIC IN CANADA TODAY

1. Canada does not owe third-world immigrants anything, particularly an imaginary 'right' not to be offended by the pre-existing Canadian society and western values.

2. Most social problems are NOT caused by the greed and selfishness of white people.

3. Free speech is essential and must be protected.

4. The rights of the individual must outweigh the 'rights' of any group.

5. The rights of individuals must not be determined by skin colour, ethnicity, religion, creed, or political views.

6. The 'original' citizens of Canada have a right to keep the western Judeo-Christian values upon which this nation was built, and to maintain the rule of law.

7. The Quran directly promotes terrorism and murder against non-Mulslims.
