| on a rethink, could it be that the teachers ran amok after years of professional failure? definitely a career that is in a decline as evidenced by literacy levels in today's youth. As a parent I used to correct the (many) mistakes the teachers made when correcting my children's "home work". What the teachers red circled and commented on, I highlighted in legal yellow, corrected, made my own comments, returned same to the school and never ever heard back from them. | |

Elane: On a serious note, the teachers of today exist in an ant colony. If you want your career to advance, you must toady up to politically correct goodness. This starts in teachers college where the more extreme of the low work, high pay activists, like tapeworms to the intestines, have gathered. If you suck up and survive teachers college, then you have to survive school. Toronto's high schools are cesspools of office politics. Teachers are targets of racism allegations that can ruin their careers, completely free of proof, evidence, or justice. They soon learn to pass the illiterates and turn their backs to what goes on. Right now, a teachers focus is on survival: keep under the radar of the gangs so your car doesnt get trashed; keep your mouth shut so the employment equity vice-pee doesn't put you down for thought crime; and count the days until you can transfer to a less diverse, but more safer place to practice your craft. Individual teachers were crushed by political correctness long ago. You can judge a tree by its fruits, and the crop produced by the Trotskyites of the Toronto Board can be counted by the coffins they fill, the diseased whores and addicts they produce, and the fat retirement plans they collect. The Bolsheviks blame the western culture for, well, everything. And the agents of western culture that have had the most influence on the putridness that is the plantation of Scarborough are the teachers. These are the people who have taught them to be what they are. It is not like they had parents. 25 percent of kids in scarborough are not fed by their baby mommas. The schools feed them. 40 percent do not have a male in the home, except for a drive by pimp daddy. The schools are the male role model. You can blame Alberta for Toronto's problems, but its the teachers in Toronto who are filling the gap left by the Bonobo culture of plantation Scarborough. They have lots of money and resources: and just look at the fine crop of cabbages they are making. |

well, that's what the system wants - cabbages. And that's what they are getting. I can't begin to count the amount of Grade XII grads I have met over the years who can't spell their way out of a wet newspaper. I mean look at the mean literacy level for The Province newspaper (for example, and I am sure it's the model) - it's Grade 6 aka Grade VI half way to the XII mark which misses the mark entirely. But anyways, no point venting (more). Tapeworms is a nice way to think of teachers. Thank you for that insight. Well worth the read. Ok, en route to the office I stopped in at my friendly havajava joint. I read the Globe Review because it is sitting there and voila an article called "There's no such thing as pint-sized discrimination" by Lynn Corsbie and it is under the heading: Celebrity Scandal: Vern Troyer a celebrated porn dwarf? Where have I been all these years? Anyways, it's a must read. For those who can and do ... But I digress - back to the cabbages. Good Coffee, Morning Glory Muffin - bliss. Grey suit. Italian loafers (hopefully made in Italy). $2.00 readers from the $ store. Buddy shows up looking just like me in the masculine version including the $2.00 readers from the $ store. Buddy is "the man". Stan the Man. And he is. This is the guy from Dubai in town. Manager. Alpha dog. Complaining that this is the second day (it is Tuesday) the receptionist did not show up. This is an ongoing complaint. 19, Grade XII grad (pre-requisite, must speak fluent english, no typing required), probably cute as a bunny but if she isn't at the desk, cute don't count. I said, "get a new one". He said, "She is the new one". Ok, hire a 65 year old woman, from the growing pool of over-the-hill women living in poverty or near-poverty (the distinction being anticipation of full fledged poverty). She'll show up. I promise and be an asset to your office, if not cute as a bunny. I commiserated because I have had my own unfair share of cabbages. Cute cabbages with boobs but dumber than door knobs. I end up doing the work they should have done from the git go but they are either (a) too lazy (b) too stupid (c) both and don't give a damn. I replaced one with an answering machine. And that was my suggestion to Stan this morning. Say I, 'Get one.' Say he, 'We have' (and they do, they are big boys). "we need a human for the emergencies". Right, well boobs don't count when the chair is empty. My point is this, and I don't really have one, this is just an office rant from a retired school parent - these lazy mindless gutless teachers pump out cabbages and one day these teachers might find themselves living in chicken coops because of the level of incompetency they taught. Never mind the fact that they are active contributors to the growing pool of criminals on the hoof. ok ok, I need to chill out. |

I remember one session in science class long ago. The teacher, so young and groovy, was not teaching science. He was teaching hatred of western culture. Apparently our schools, at that time, were designed to make 'factory workers'. Just look at the way school is structured: the kids walk from class to class on the ringing of a bell. He did not discuss alternatives. Now, our schools produce a product. Useless workers, but they are mighty fine clients for a social welfare system. Schools make welfare cases. These blobs of dumbism have needs, and can complain, but they certainly lack the stuff needed for working, but for shirking they are just fine. One high school I was in, I listened to the 'civics' teacher basically teach his class all about their rights if they were 'harassed by the cops'. What to do when approached by 'the cops'. The mans disgust with the po-lice was tangible. Unfortunately, this bolshevik teaching method is strongest in Toronto. Uppity white folks would shriek at some of the stuff going on here, but then again, they all moved away, or have put their kids into french immersion. What parent would celebrate when Autoshop was replaced with African Dance? When art class gives lessons in spray paint techniques? When getting caught with a knife gets you a mornings detention when the Safe Schools act mandates expulsion? The creators of the 'situation' in Toronto are the ones who are profiting from the plantation: teachers, social workers, and activists. But, they are the ones up to their jowls in their frankenstein creations. |

Fenris you and Elane have guite the way with words, cabbages good lord that's funny. Liberal parents ceded their rights to raise their children twenty years ago, the ole it "Takes a village to raise a child" has been the left's mantra. Did they ask said village to assume liabity for their snot monsters? Of course not, as usual if they want something so shall it be. The result being we have twenty year old children, men and woman that lack the mental ability to behave or act like adults (young NDP and socialist voters). I refer to their ilk as the "Bubble wrap" generation, our educators replaced morals, ethics and consequences with "Feelings" and more "Feelings" and that's what we got, young people consumed with "narcisisstic feelings". What's truely scary is they can legally vote, and we know what happens when the bubble wrappers vote-we get marxist a communist government. |

| Well Rose, 20 years ago a junior I supervised in a law office (she was replaced by an answering machine after she mucked up outgoing correspondence that is to say she filed to put a letter in the right envelope that was attached for her convenience to the letter in the first place so as to reduce the risk of her incompetence - asking too much, I know) started off her pout with "the firm" because she was not given a paid day off for her 20th birthday. Twenty years later I work on my own. I "do" the stamps. I trust no one but myself now. And even that is edgy. But anyways, "takes a village ... " .. they really want to blame ME for their kids' feck ups. U 2 Rose. And Fenris! it's his fault. | |
