Bigfoot body in freezer open thread Print E-mail
Written by Darcey
Friday, 15 August 2008

Today is the day when two bigfoot hunters from Georgia will present their proof that bigfoot exists:

In the hairy and hoax-filled history of Bigfoot, those who believe in the mythical beast have offered up all manner of evidence, from grainy photos to hoarse recordings to tracks of those aforementioned feet.

But on Friday at a hotel in Palo Alto, Calif., a pair of Bigfoot hunters say they will present what they contend is the most definitive proof yet of an animal that science says does not exist: DNA evidence and photographs of a dead specimen they say they found in a remote swath of woods in northern Georgia.

“It was very frightening at first,” said Rick Dyer, 31, a former corrections officer who — coincidentally — runs a business that offers Bigfoot tours. “And it got even more frightening when you saw the others.”

Indeed, Mr. Dyer said he and his partner, Matthew Whitton, saw three more of the beasts nearby as they dragged the body of said creature out of the woods. Moreover, Mr. Dyer says he has video clips and photographs to prove it.

One photograph provided to the news media showed what resembled a gorilla — or maybe an old sheepskin rug — lying twisted in a freezer, with a dollop of intestines protruding from its belly.

“There’s a lot of comment being made that it looks fake, or it looks like a suit,” Mr. Dyer said. “But these people wasn’t there when I was sweating, pulling this thing through the woods.” (New York Times)

 Here is the picture:

Bigfoot in freezer

Freeze, thaw... Whenever I come across a dead bigfoot I like to keep them frozen as long as possible and just chop off whatever I need.

::

The Discovery Channel interviews Tom Biscardi, CEO of Searching for Bigfoot:

"All this crap was going through my mind," Biscardi reported. "Will they all be there? Was this all bologna? Will I call and the phone is disconnected, you know? Well, I get there, and my God, there they were waiting for me. They were two respectful gentlemen. One was a cop that was wounded, so he is on administrative paid leave right now, and the other was an ex-corrections officer. They made sure that I got in a decent hotel, and we talked for about an hour and a half. There was a big storm that night, and we agreed to meet the next morning. Then, they gave me the [creature's] DNA and they said, 'Here, we want you to take this and run it through.' They didn't want to show me the body yet. At that point, we were pretty much just breaking bread."

Biscardi flew back home, but returned to Georgia last Saturday. At that time, he was given the opportunity to see the body for the first time.

"I have to tell you, I was in shock," Biscardi stated as he described the moment he laid eyes upon the creature. "It was a euphoric experience for me. After 35 years of searching for this thing, it just blew me away. There I was face-to-face with this thing. It was about 7 feet tall and it weighs over 500 pounds. It had five fingers and five toes, very much like a human. His feet were in excess of 16 inches, and his hands from the palm to the middle finger were in excess of 11 inches. The teeth were protruding because rigor mortis had set in, and the tongue was out. Its guts were also out of its stomach, and it looked like the gasses in the body caused this because they had this thing since June 10 or 12. I don’t remember exactly, but [they had it] for about two months. They were afraid. They didn't know what to think about what they had." (Discovery Channel)

All our hopes and dreams have been crushed:

The Bigfoot news conference was a bust. Carried live on CNN and live blogged by websites across the globe, today's news conference offered no real proof, no clear DNA evidence and nothing to make us believe the two Georgia guys who claim they found the body or the slick-talking Bigfoot "expert" who asserts it's the real deal.

"We were just hiking in the woods and discovered it," said Matt Whitton. Whitten said he and buddy Rick Dyer dragged it out of the woods in early June, at an undisclosed location in northern Georgia.

He claimed they were "paralleled," or shadowed by other live Bigfoot creatures as they dragged the 500 pound body out of the woods.

Whitton and Dyer looked and talked like a couple of Bubbas, wearing ballcaps. Whitton, who did most of the talking, became testy as reporters voiced skepticism over their credibility and wondered why they happened to be so well equipped with cameras for the impromptu "hike" that led to the discovery.

The expert the two Georgia men brought in, Tom Biscardi, was much slicker. He asserted this is the real deal. But he has been linked to previous Bigfoot false alarms and hoaxes. Biscardi said detailed "scientific" evidence on this "find" is still being examined and that there will be future revelations.

He did show and handed out some still photos, one which he said showed the tongue and cheek of the alleged creature, proving it was not a mask. And he had some stills of what he claimed showed of the supposed live critters following the Bubbas. (Detroit Free Press)

Stop being so cynical - One would have to assume that people who run Bigfoot tours are more apt to find a body smilies/wink.gif

Nice to see that they are using the more eco-friendly chest freezer to store their bigfoot.

Is that the same one from the 70's Bionic Man series? I always wondered what happened to him. Work for sasquatches (or is that sasquathi?) has dried up. Most have died homeless and penniless and sought shelter from global warming in the coller confines of abandoned freezers.

Is it ever too much to ask, in the year of someone's lord 2008, that we can get a decent pic of a dead body of a Bigfoot? Seriously, in a time when every drunk sorority girl can show a decently lit pic of her lady berries to the world on Facebook with a $50 digital camera, we get THIS?

Maybe they were drinking beer with it and used a camera phone? Just saying, not like I would do something like that.

dale, I think that's the costume from the "King Kong" knockoff, "Mighty Joe Young", done in the early 50's.

Although it's hard to tell, what with it's cramped position, could be the "Six Million Buck Guy", starring Lee Majors, and a cast of dozens. smilies/wink.gif

hmmm... now lets see here... if you shot yourself a "bigfoot" what would you do?

1. drag it home, stick it in an old freezer for 2 months, then let it thaw out allowing it to rot, then call a press conference? or...

2. drag it home, immediately call everyone you know showing the find, then making damn sure you preserve the evidence as best as possible?

I believe they already found it dead else that's their story and they are sticking to it.

if you shot yourself a "bigfoot" what would you do?

I'd do a Saddam-type spider hole shot or a Lindy England and post it on the broom.

Hey I'm hoping this is legit and that DNA sample can be cloned into making a whole fleet of Bigfoots. then they can be set loose to bring the wild ones in. organize them. unionize them and through collective bargaining elevat their economic conditions and provide some real spotting opportunities for people taking the "Bigfoot tours" smilies/grin.gif

Not endangered. Or at least, as not endangered as you an be in the bush in Georgia during hunting season (i.e., January to December):

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Reserve spokesman Tom Mackenzie said officers also are not taking the claim seriously and will not investigate Bigfoot because it not a federal priority.

And they have three different stories now, and even the True Believers are abandoning them.

"It's not an endangered species on any list that we've got,'' Mackenzie said.

Sorry about the mis-quote. That part about True Believers was my editorial. Full quote is only:

"It's not an endangered species on any list that we've got,'' Mackenzie said.

Actually, I think some signals have been crossed, and these Georgians are working on the PR campaign that Krazy mentioned. For the Russians, for some reasons. I mean, their PR is THAT GOOD.

I've always wondered what you get when you cross a human and an opossum.

One of the two samples of DNA said to prove the existence of the Bigfoot came from a human and the other was 96 percent from an opossum, according to Curt Nelson, a scientist at the University of Minnesota who performed the DNA analysis.
